Coach Dabrieo brings an incredible depth of knowledge on lacrosse to the YLHS Mustangs program.  Prior to joining YLHS, he coached the Cal Poly SLO Mustangs to an impressive 70% win percentage over 5+ seasons, winning three WCLL titles and earning four MCLA Division 1 National Tournament spots. Under his tenure in SLO, the Mustangs were ranked #1 nationally during the 2017 and 2020 seasons, and were the national runner-up in 2016. Coach Dabrieo also currently coaches the West Coast Starz 2028 team, the premiere national boys' club program on the West Coast.

As a player, Coach Dabrieo was a four-year starter on offense at NCAA Division III Plymouth State University in New Hampshire, graduating in 2006. In his tenure with the Panthers, he was the leading scorer in his junior year and then earned All-Conference honors in his senior season. As a coach, he was assistant coach for Reading High School, helping the Rockets win the league title every year he was on staff. In 2015, he was the offensive coordinator for Daniel Webster College (Division III), guiding the Eagles to a twelve-goals-per-game average, double the team's output in the previous season.

Coach Dabrieo couples high expectations with advanced coaching techniques to bring the best out of the boys on and off the field.  His extensive knowledge and his love of the game will take this team to the next level.

Lacrosse has been a part of Coach Amidon's life since he started playing as a high school sophomore in Chicago, Illinois.  After moving to California, he concluded his playing career at UC Irvine as a defenseman, where the Anteaters made it to the WCLL Division II semifinals in 1993 and won the WCLL Division II in 1994.  For the last ten years, he has coached boys’ and girls’ youth recreation and regional club teams, and this is his fifth year as a coach in the YLHS Mustangs program.  He loves this sport, its traditions, and its evolution, and he's thankful every day that he gets to stay connected to it and watch these incredible athletes play.  He is committed to supporting Coach Dabrieo and the boys however he can to help this program succeed.

Coach Amidon has made mental health an absolute priority in his teaching and coaching, particularly for today's youth and college students, and is committed to providing a healthy, competitive, and enriching experience for student-athletes that improves life skills, promotes character development, and fosters inclusivity.

While Coach Amidon likes to win games and strives hard to help prepare the boys for competitive play, he emphasizes sportsmanship, team camaraderie, and the joy of sports.  He never forgets that these are kids playing a game, and every player should have the opportunity to try the sport, learn and grow as a person and player, and find ways to contribute to the team's success.
